World Famous Artist Partners With Bethlehem Retailer To Create Unique Christmas Decoration

A popular Bethlehem home decor retailer is teaming up with a world-renowned artist to bring customers an exclusive Christmas City Cityscape ornament.

Domaci earlier this year launched its collaboration with artist Lisa Kelechava, president and founder of Joy to the collectibles of the world. The ornament is currently available in limited quantities at the store at 523 Main Street as part of the Christmas in July event in downtown Bethlehem. The event runs from now until July 25 with companies participating in various activities and offering promotions to customers.

The hand painted glass ornament was made in Europe and created by master craftsmen. It pays homage to Bethlehem, with its cityscape and familiar landmarks like the blast furnaces of Bethlehem Steel; the bell tower of the central Moravian church; and the historic main street.

Bethlehem was named “Christmas City, USA” in December 1937. Since then visitors have flocked from all over the world during the holiday season to embrace its many traditions. Domaci co-founders Warren and Derrick Clark said the couple were fortunate enough to meet Kelechava, an Allentown native, earlier this year at the AmericasMart market in Atlanta, Georgia.

The owners wanted to give customers something special this year amid the coronavirus pandemic, Warren Clark said.

“Being able to collaborate with someone like Lisa with her incredible talent and special connection to the region was just beyond what we could have even imagined when we started the project,” he said.

Kelechava called the project “near and dear” to her heart, noting that her family currently live in Bethlehem and that she is a graduate of Lehigh University. Kelechava has been manufacturing holiday ornaments since starting her business in 1998. Currently, the company offers seven different collections and over 1,200 ornaments in its open line, she said.

“Christmas City is quite special to me,” Kelechava added.

The Clarkes plan to keep the ornament until it runs out, and then it will only be available during the holiday season. Additional “Christmas in July” promotions at Domaci include full and advanced access to the store’s selection of holiday decorations and gifts in-store and on social media, as well as a 25% discount on all holiday items. , including the Christmas City Cityscape ornament throughout July.
